Elgin Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, "B. W. Raymond" with Pennsylvania Railroad dial, 18 size, 15 jewels, key wind and set, adjusted, gilt plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance and micrometric regulator in a coin silver, hinged back and bezel open face case, the back engraved "665", roman numeral, double sunk white enamel dial signed "Pennsylvania Railroad Co.", blued steel, pierced morning glory hands, serial #128566, c1870.
CONDITION:
CASE: Shows extra case screw marks; Dings and pin pricks; Scratches on outer surface of case; Scratches on inner surface of case; Engraving with moderate wear; Covers with minor gaps when closed; Minor scratches on crystal; Bow with minor wear; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Severely damaged and with repairs. HANDS: Minor oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches and scuffs on plate; Pin pricks; Barrel bridge screw replaced; Barrel bridge screw with spacer; Regulator assembly with faint specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
